UPDATE ON CARDIAC CATHETER ABLATION

It’s been a year and a half since I had the cardiac catheter ablation procedure. I went off heart medication in December, 2010, a month after returning from my 1500 mile sail to La Paz, and I sent in heart monitor files twice a week to my surgeon, which were all clean. To renew my U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License, I did a gruelling nuclear-medicine stress test to get my heart rate up to 136 last spring followed by a 24-hour Holter monitor. I showed no more signs of atrial fibrillation and the procedure seems to have been completely successful.   Lewis Keizer

Lewis and Willa 13th Wedding Anniversary

On May 25 we celebrated our wedding anniversary.

TIRAMISU FOR TWO

In the years we’ve been together we have:

  1. Founded the Home Temple;
  2. Established the Caduceus Institute of Classical Homeopathy;
  3. Established the Wisdom Seminars and Home Temple School of Sacred Studies with numerous online certificate and degree programs in topics including the Western Mystery Tradition, Yeshua Studies, Gnosticism, Vedic Astrology, and Vitalistic Healing;
  4. We have travelled to Europe and India several times;
  5. Migrated the THG program to an online format.
  6. Willa’s homeopathy school has prepared scores of students worldwide to pass the Council on Homeopathic Certification exams–a three-years program of studies.
  7. She has also carried out two major mission-retreats to Tibetan Pemakod.
  8. I have published numerous books and online classes, and presented numerous multimedia lecture-seminars.
  9. I began my Bishop’s World Blessing tour with a 1500 mile voyage to La Paz, Mexico, and inuagurated my land tour with a seminar at the One Spirit Learning Center in New York City on May 7–the first of many I hope to schedule worldwide.

So we have had a good run doing mutual and separate spiritual projects for the benefit of others, and hope to have many more years building on this.

THE PRE-CHRISTIAN ARAMAIC TEACHINGS OF YESHUA

Multimedia Seminar and Workshop, Dr. Lewis Keizer

The exquisite teachings of Jesus were lost or misunderstood in the early gentile churches and their New Testament writings. The Greek sources were poorly translated from Aramaic and spun to promote Christian interpretation about Yeshua as a crucified savior and other Christian doctrines Yeshua never taught. However, modern scholarship has developed methods to reconstruct the forgotten Aramaic teachings of Yeshua, which were rooted in the proto-kabbalistic thought-world of Jewish mysticism, wisdom school tradition, Merkabah ascent, and Babylonian messianic apocalyptic.

Two four-hour multimedia PowerPoint seminars are offered: Introduction to the Authentic Aramaic Teachings of Yeshua, and The Initiatic Teachings of Yeshua Embedded in the Aramaic Core of the Gospel of Thomas

 LEWIS KEIZER, M.Div., Ph.D.

LEWIS KEIZER, M.DIV., PH.D.

Dr. Keizer is a scholar who has researched the historical message of Yeshua for half a century and published many books and articles reconstructing the authentic teachings. He completed his M. Div. studies at the Episcopal Divinity School with classes at Harvard Divinity School and Harvard University in Cambridge, MA; earned  his Ph.D. degree at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA; was a  member of the faculty at the University of California in Santa Cruz teaching Religious Studies and Classics, and has taught at several other universities and schools. He resigned from the Episcopal Church in 1976 to pursue his Yeshua research and private spiritual practices without pressure to conform to Christian doctrine. He was consecrated an independent Bishop that same year. Since then he has trained and ordained both women and men for non-professional home ministry and jail/hospice chaplaincies. His websites are www.hometemple.org and www.wisdomseminars.org.

Dr. Keizer will offer his autographed books and CD’s for sale at 65% of the bookstore price to defray personal expenses.

MESSIANIC BANQUET COMMUNION SERVICE: Mass of the New Humanity

Dr. Keizer has designed a potluck meal communion service based on the messianic Shabbat Seder of Yeshua adapted for modern worship.  This was the historical precursor to the earliest Christian agape meal, later reformed by Paul as mystery liturgy that developed as the Mass. The Communion Seder is optional, and may be done following a Seminar or as Sunday service.

Cabo to La Paz Four Days Alone

 I DON’T PLAN TO CONTINUE MY CIRCUMNAVIGATION ON LEGACY.

I have decided to sell LEGACY in order to finance the rest of my journey over the next few years. The World Blessing Voyage will become the World Blessing Lecture-Tour. Instead of travelling at 5 mph in a boat, I’ll encircle the Earth at 500 mph in airplane legs.

Why? Because during my 1500 mile voyage I realized that the time, expense, and constant danger involved in a sailing circumnavigation, plus the long times of required separation from my wife Willa, make the rest of the voyage impractical for my basic intent–which is to encircle the globe with Apostolic Blessing, and to spread the true teachings of Yeshua through books, CD’s, and lectures.

My new plan is to modify the NEW HUMANITY CD and to book lectures at Unity, Unitarian, Theosophical, and other churches or organizations worldwide, then plan travel tours on an annual schedule, like Tibetan lamas do. I’ll offer the PowerPoint and other lectures and classes free of charge but sell books and CD’s at each location to help defray expenses and also accept donations. The sale of my boat LEGACY will provide the basic financing for these tours.

If you are a member of such a church or other organization who can gather at least twenty people for me, please email me HERE or HERE to discuss arrangements. More later.

Crew Change for Baja Haha

At the last minute, Bruce and Bridget decided not to do the Haha, so I searched the Latitude 38 Crew List for experienced sailor/boat-owners wanting to crew Haha 2010. I had six good applicants and chose two. They are Frank and Ken. Frank casts off from Alameda with me on Thursday morning, October 14, for an overnight sail to Santa Cruz Harbor. We’ll pick up Ken there on Saturday for a leg to Moro Bay and points South.

This will be my last blog post on this site until I return a bit before Thanksgiving.

For the voyage to and in the Sea of Cortez, I will be posting on www.sailblogs.com, where you will find my blog under the sailing vessel Le

Final Preparations for S/V LEGACY

LEGACY getting ready for shake-down cruise.

On the advice of Bill Ingle, the Yanmar mechanic who made it possible for Legacy to have her nearly new 3GM30F diesel engine, I had a new three-blade propellor customized by Tim Kilian, who added special folds at the end of each blade to minimize water-flow distortion and thus prop walk. It is optimized for fuel economy, speed while motoring, and power through rough seas. With the special folds it will pull the boat wherever I point it, especially in reverse where normal props would drag it to port and make maneuvering tricky. Like most sailors, I learned long ago to use prop walk for maneuvering in reverse, but now I’ll have a new advantage for tight maneuvers. Tim also coated the prop with beeswax, which keeps hard growth off for a few years. He gave me a chunk of beeswax for the future.

My crewman Bruce designed and constructed an engine access window from the starboard quarterberth. Together we checked and lubricated all through-hulls, checked the steering cables, and Bruce managed to unfreeze the cockpit drain valves (which are normally the only valves left open all the time). I fitted the storm jib to an emergency solent stay I designed.

We have redundancy (backups) for all vital systems: AIS, GPS, chart plotters, autopilots. We have excellent independent communications and emergency communications systems: VHS with DSC, new IsatPhone satellite phone, new GPS-based ACR EPIRB, SPOT Satellite device, as well as Sony all-band radio receiver to hear SSB communications, weather, and receive weather faxes at sea. In December my new Immarset IsatPhone Pro will have its data capabilities activated and we can receive weather information at sea that way as well. Of course, my laptop is chart-plotter backup, but also stores all necessary ship’s papers, charts, celestial navigation software, and technical manuals (backed up on a Seagate drive). All the world Navionics charts, anchor alarm, and all kinds of useful marine aps live on my IPhone. The Raymarine C-80 chart plotter superimposes weather, RADAR, and AIS signals from commercial shipping and large yachts on top of Navionics vector charts. My tough little Avon hypalon dinghy remains inflated, lashed and held out of the water by the crane lift at the stern, ready for instant launching as either dinghy or emergency life raft. It also protects the cockpit from aft winds and boarding seas, as do the cockpit side curtains. The new Bimini also includes a piece that extends it to the dodger for complete protection from rain and sun. It is white so we won’t swelter under the stored and radiated heat of a darker Sunbrella shade in the tropics. It will also help collect rain water, as there is no water-maker.

Locates our position and summons emergency help anywhere on the sea.

Telephone-like communications, email, IMS for emergency, weather, and other communications.Bimini--can be folded back when not wanted

Full Bimini with large-windowed extension to dodger

It is amazing that I was able to obtain nearly all of these and other cruising necessities at half to two-thirds of cost, from the engine to the satphone, which just became available to the public last week at $495–compared to Iridium sat phone at $1300. The Isatphone usage charges are a quarter of what Iridium charges.

Bruce and I are planning to instal third-reef lines and lead all reef lines through clutches. We will also instal the SCAD holding tank monitor in the coming four weeks before departure for the Baja Haha. We plan to make our five-day and night shake-down cruise from San Francisco to Santa Cruz and back next week.
